Heroes of Java is a rather peculiar example of HTML5 advergame. In this case Adesso, a german IT service provider, had some original plans for their pinball.
This game is the perfect example to illustrate the countless possibilities of advergaming. The first impression is we are in front of a regular pinball. And then, as the first ball is lost, a quiz appears. Not a generic quiz but a Java oriented questionnaire. Adesso plans to distribute the game among a public of programmers, so when the players register their score, Adesso will be able to fetch also the results of the quiz. Eventually they’ll be able to gather a large group of Java professional programmers. And not just that. They’ll do it while also leveraging the whole recruiting process. Isn’t that a smart move?
